If you repeat a word enough times, it stops having any meaning. It just devolves into a mess of noises coming out of your mouth, sounding like some sort of alien gibberish.
And now thanks to the latest supercut from editor Harry Hanrahan (the man who made 'Nicolas Cage Losing His S***'), the phrase 'It's showtime!' no longer has any linguistic meaning to us.
We went into this three-minute supercut of people from various movies using the phrase 'It's showtime!' thinking it would be a hilarious takedown of the one of the most cliche movie lines, finally putting that tired phrase out to pasture. And we got that, but we also came away with another valuable lesson: Eddie Murphy needs to fire his agent.
