Daniel Radcliffe Feels 'Very Good' About 'How To Succeed' Premiere

'Coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months,' he tells MTV News.

"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" star Daniel Radcliffe will perform the same routine eight times a week on Broadway for the rest of the year and into 2012, but the actor will happily take that relative monotony instead of the exhaustive rehearsals he's endured for the last several months.

"It feels very good to have opened — it really does," he told MTV News following the musical's premiere Sunday. "We've had a long-ish preview period — I can't say long anymore because of 'Spider-Man' — but it feels great to be here and know the show is set now and we don't have to rehearse during the day and we get to chill out. Honestly, coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months."

The work has clearly paid off, as reviews for his performance have been largely positive. "Daniel Radcliffe is so adorable in his Broadway musical debut, you just want to pinch his cheeks," wrote the New York Post. "It's not just his youth — the 'Harry Potter' star is 21 — but the endearing amount of dedication and enthusiasm he pours into steering the [play]."

That's got to feel good for a guy who's gone on record that he has no particular talent for singing and dancing. But Radcliffe put in the work, and now he's looking forward to a bit more time to himself. Not that he's got ambitious plans for his downtime.

When MTV News asked if he'll have a chance to enjoy New York City, he said, "I will be able to now because the day-to-day rehearsal will have stopped. I'm just kind of relaxing and reading and chilling out. You know this; I don't do anything interesting!"

Nicki Minaj's Lil Wayne Lap Dance Nervousness

A funny thing happened to Nicki Minaj on Sunday (March 27) during the "I Am Still Music" tour when she headed to give a lucky fan a lap dance - her boss, Lil Wayne , ran from backstage at the Long Island, New York's Nassau Coliseum and plopped down in the seat.

The Pink Friday star's showstopping move suddenly turned into a must-see moment, as she told press afterwords: "Well, I have to say, I been giving lap dances [during the tour], but I didn't know Wayne was gonna jump out and pop out the back. I literally was up there trying to get a boy, then I turn around and I see this cute little dread in the chair with his legs dangling off. And I was like, 'What?' I was super nervous."

After a few quick pelvic thrusts in front of Weezy, Nicki smiled, then returned to her dancers to resume their choreography.

The affair was one of the evening's highlights, but ultimately, it proved to be more nightclub than gentleman's club. "It's just the essence of a lap dance," Manaj said of her routine. "Now, the down and dirty? Uh uh, not yet."

'Harry Potter' DVD Premiere To Stream Live Monday On MTV.com!

The last time MTV News hosted a "Harry Potter" live-stream event, Emma Watson offered to take off her dress and Daniel Radcliffe revealed that J.K. Rowling texted him to say she'd never write another book about the boy wizard.

Craziness! So you're not going to want to miss our next franchise live stream, which arrives Monday, April 4, as we celebrate the DVD release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1." Starting at 7 p.m. ET on MTV.com, host Josh Horowitz will be interviewing castmembers and super-fans on the red carpet, debuting exclusive footage from the film and taking a peek inside Harry Potter: The Exhibition at the Discovery Times Square building in New York City.

The "Deathly Hallows" cast in attendance will include Sir Michael Gambon (Dumbledore), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), James Phelps (Weasley twins), Dohmnal Gleeson (Bill Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Evanna Lynch (Luna), David Thewliss (Lupin) and Nat Tena (Tonks), plus producers David Heyman and David Baron and many more.

It's getting harder and harder for New Yorkers to ignore the chemistry between Amar'e Stoudemire and Ciara. Get the deets on their newest intimate outing inside...

 

Because pop star Ciara is besties with LaLa Vazquez Anthony whose husband Carmelo Anthony plays for the Knicks, it's only natural that Ciara and Amar'e would be in the same social circle.  But it's the moments when the pair are spotted only in the company of each other that makes everyone believe they're relationship denial is B.S.

The "couple" joined LaLa and Carmelo at STK for dinner on Monday, but have been spotted at various other Meatpacking hot spots together.  And isn't it convienent that Amar'e just so happens to live in a fabulous multi-million dollar apartment in the Meatpacking district?

One source told PAGE SIX, 

"Ciara is best friends with LaLa and has been attending Knicks games with her, including Monday's game. Through Melo and LaLa, her friendship with Amar'e has developed. They have been seen out together on numerous occasions."

And one source reported that the last time the duo were out, Amar'e asked for a very private table.

A rep for Amar'e said, "I know that they are friends," but didn't add much more.  Meanwhile, a source close to the Knicks added,

"Ciara is extremely close to LaLa and always sits with her in Carmelo's seats at the games. Ciara has become friends with Amar'e because they are all spending time together." 

The two were also looking mighty comfy at Kiyan Anthony's 4th birthday party a few weeks ago.  Well whatever this might be, it's a good look for Ciara.  As long as Lala, CiCi, and Kim K. are not trying out for a "Basketball Wives" of NYC show--I'm good.

Ashton Kutcher Buys a $4,000 Doomsday Kit

Ashton Kutcher likes to be ready ? for anything.

The actor recently visited the Surplus Value Center in LA and stocked up on $4,000 worth of survival gear for himself and his family. ?He is obsessed with the idea of either an earthquake or massive uprising,? an insider tells In Touch.

Ashton bought some basic survival packages: emergency blankets, hand-powered radios and flashlights, as well as a lot of emergency water rations and ready-to-eat meals. ?The store specializes in anything you might need for basic survival in the event of a natural disaster,? says the insider. ?Ashton apparently likes to keep up a good stock of emergency goods.?

And he?s not the only one! Stars including Kiefer Sutherland, Leonardo DiCaprio and Angie Harmon are all regulars at the Sunset Boulevard shop, the insider reveals.

Brittany Maggard Arrested For Instigating Jenelle Evans Fight

Brittany Maggard, who triggered Jenelle Evans' POUNDING of some girl she suspected of messing around with her ex, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

The charge for Brittany? Violating her probation.

All she did was push Jenelle in the direction of beating recipient Britany Truett, but that's all it took for Maggard to get on the wrong side of her P.O.

When the Teen Mom fight first posted on TMZ, the Department of Corrections of North Carolina set the wheels in motion to yank her probation ASAP.

She's on probation for assault. The terms of her freedom require her to obey all laws. If the DOC determines she's not, well, it's their call to pop her.

Brittany is bitter, saying it's not fair she's in more trouble than the other girls in the fight and all she did was push Jenelle. She says she's "terrified."

Of course, she was on probation for a previous ASSAULT CONVICTION, so it's hard to be sympathetic. That and she admitted instigating the brawl.

In any case, she's now free on $5,000 bond.

Wiz Khalifa Contemplates Success In 'The Race'

The Pittsburgh MC talks about his new Rolling Papers today at 4 p.m. ET on MTV's 'Rapfix Live.'

Through hard work Wiz Khalifa has risen from heralded underground rapper to hit-making star in the past year, and he addresses his ascent on his new album, Rolling Papers.

On the I.D. Labs-produced track, "The Race," the Pittsburgh lyricist takes a smoke-filled trip down memory lane.

"I'm in the race and taking the winner's place," he waxes melodically on the song. "No foot on the breaks/ One of the best, homey, that's what they call me/ It's lonely at the top, ain't no company/ So now I just stunt on my own, I just stunt on my own."

"It's a personal song without being too preachy," Wiz told MTV News about the track as he celebrated his album's release on Tuesday. "It really just explains how I feel at certain points. Just doing work, anyone can feel like that when you grinding from the bottom and get to a certain point. You see people who, in the beginning or middle, were riding with you, then there's some adversity, and at the end of the day, it's about who's with you in the end."

After being tapped as a rising star by Rolling Stone while he was still in high school and putting out a series of mixtapes and an independent album, the 23-year-old Wiz was soaking up his recent success as he inked his name on copies of Rolling Papers at a Best Buy in Manhattan.

"It's totally exhilarating to see kids lined up outside, screaming, wanting the album and purchasing the album," Wiz said. "It was actually, like, a year ago that I first started working on the album.

"I didn't really know where I was going, but I knew I was going somewhere," he added. "To have it done and to see the full vision and for people to be excited about it and the entire buildup, it's just really magnificent."

Wiz Khalifa makes his second appearance on MTV News' "RapFix Live," hosted by Sway on Wednesday (March 30) at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com.

Daniel Radcliffe Says Final 'Harry Potter' Press Tour Will Be 'Weird'

The end is almost upon us. Over a decade after production on the first "Harry Potter" began, the final film hits theaters in July, and as J.K. Rowling promised Daniel Radcliffe, she's not going to write more books about the boy wizard.

That's fine by Radcliffe, who has joked on many an occasion that he's ready to leave the franchise behind, not least because there'd be something unseemly about playing Harry as the actor approached middle age. But he's not done with "Potter" yet. There's still the upcoming press tour for the second part of "Deathly Hallows," which will require Radcliffe to step away from his new Broadway musical, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," for a few days.

And, as he told MTV News recently, transitioning from one show-business world to another is going to be strange.

"In a way, it will probably be weird to suddenly have to switch out of the mode I'm in for this show and then go and do press," he said, adding with a laugh, "But I can do that. I'm very versatile!"

Being able to jump from performing to plugging and back again, Radcliffe added, simply comes with the territory.

"I think any actor that does a big film or even a show like this now without the expectation that they will have to do press for it is very naive," he said. "It's part of the job. It's as much a part of the job almost as anything else."

Snoop Dogg Explains How Kanye West Collabo 'Eyez Closed' Happened

'I was in the studio with Swizz Beatz and heard some beats, and it was Kanye West,' Snoop recalls to MTV News.

Snoop Dogg was working with Swizz Beatz in the studio when he decided to let the world know he settled on a name for his next album — Doggystyle 2: The Doggumentary — which he later shortened to just Doggumentary.

The producer proved to be good luck for the veteran rapper. During another session in New York when the pair were working together, Snoop said he heard music coming from another room and decided to investigate.

The result? "Eyez Closed," from his latest project — which dropped Tuesday (March 29) — produced by and featuring Kanye West; John Legend also appears on the track.

"I was in the studio with Swizz Beatz and walked down the hallway and heard some beats, and it was Kanye West," Snoop told MTV News. "He called me into the studio and played me a couple of songs from his album. He was like, 'I got this song that's not gonna make the album, but listen to it.' "

The rocking "Eyez Closed" lifts a sample from Jimmy Spicer's "Money (Dollar Bill Y'all)," also used by Maino for his breakout "Hi Hater." On the number, a reflective Snoop pays respect to the younger generation while reaffirming his status. "Run these MCs, I'm tougher than leather," Snoop raps.

Earlier this month, Snoop spoke with MTV News about his career, which has spawned 11 solo albums, from his Death Row days to riding with Master P and his No Limit soldiers to his latest incarnation as Wiz Khalifa's mentor.

"I don't really think of it as reinventing myself, 'cause it's all within me," Snoop explained. "It's all who I am. It's more or less faces of Snoop Dogg or characters of Snoop Dogg that's in this one spirit. But at the same time, he's able to embellish different parts of the character to create this look, that style, that sound. But it's all the same. Because when I do it all at once, when I do a concept that has all the songs, I don't have enough time to change and act like this; it's still me."

Peter Bjorn And John Return With Live, Loose Gimme Some

The 'Young Folks' hitmakers' latest album aims to capture their 'punky and energetic' live sound.

On Tuesday (March 29), Swedish hookmeisters Peter Bjorn and John return to stores with Gimme Some, their sixth full-length album and their third since they became internationally famous (and poster children for whistlers everywhere) with their hit "Young Folks."

Of course, given the rather stiff competition PB&J face here in the states — Gimme Some has the relative misfortune of being released against both Britney Spears' Femme Fatale and Wiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers — the guys aren't optimistic about their album's chart-topping chances.

"Our chances are probably not so good. I don't know," Peter Morén laughed. "I guess any kind of debut would be amazing for us."

Then again, that doesn't really matter all that much. After all, it doesn't seem like PB&J made Gimme Some for the majority of the record-buying public. They made it for themselves. Because unlike 2009's Living Thing or 2006's Writer's Block (which, of course, featured "Young Folks"), their new album is a decidedly live affair, a crackling thing that sounds very much like a band setting up in a room and letting it rip.

"We wanted to make an album that would be fun to play live and would also reflect more how we sound live and how we've been sounding live for a lot of years," Morén said. "I don't think the records have really shown that. Live, we've always been a little more punky and energetic. So we wanted to put that on vinyl for once ... there were some tweaks and overdubs, but the idea this time was that the live take would be there first, and we'd work off that."

And somewhat fittingly, the album bristles with pure pop energy — check first single "Second Chance" or "Breaker Breaker" for proof — and blows by in just 37-odd minutes, a tact that might not earn PB&J a #1 debut here in the states, but most certainly made the album an absolute blast to make ... and take on the road.

"[There were] quite a lot of songs around, but we never finished [them], and part of the reason was because they were slow ones. I mean, I love ballads, but this time around, we have a couple of 'medium' songs, but there's really no ballads," Morén said. "And that was a deliberate decision. We always aimed to make records that are kind of short, but we never succeed. This time, we definitely kind of tried to keep it short ... and we all love the record, and it's been so much fun to play these new songs live."

Death Cab For Cutie Prep Exceptionally Live 'You Are A Tourist' Video

The clip, the 'first-ever scripted, single-take video' to be aired live as it's filmed, will premiere on April 5.

Death Cab For Cutie are gearing up for the May 31 release of their Codes and Keys album with a brand-new video that may not actually be a video at all.

On April 5, they'll unveil the clip for Codes' first single, "You Are a Tourist," which — according to a press release from their label, Atlantic Records — will be the "first-ever scripted, single-take video ... to be aired live as it is filmed."

The whole thing will be broadcast to the entire world on April 5 at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT through YouAreATourist.com, allowing fans to view the entire production as it unfolds. No breaks in the action, no edits, just one long, exceptionally live take.

The "Tourist" clip will be directed by Tim Nackashi — who's worked with the likes of OK Go and Radiohead — and conceptualized by frequent collaborator Aaron Stewart-Ahn, who did DCFC's "I Will Possess Your Heart" vid. Microsoft's Bing search engine will be providing exclusive behind-the-scenes content through its Facebook page and fans can add the "Tourist" event to their calendars using the mobile barcode scanning app RedLaser and a QR Code (that's that funny-looking box thing) that is being posted on Death Cab's official site and Twitter feed.

Death Cab for Cutie's Codes and Keys is now available for pre-order (in a variety of special bundles) over on the band's site. In the weeks leading up to the album's release, DCFC will hit the road for a run of North American shows, beginning on May 18 in Toronto. They'll also headline the Sasquatch! Music Festival on May 28 in George, Washington.

Teen Mom Star Jenelle Evans Arrested!

Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans was arrested last night for assault after TMZ posted a video of her fighting another girl last week.

Authorities say the other girl in the video, Britany Truett, was initially not going to press charges, but changed her mind over the weekend. The fight between the two girls supposedly started over Kieffer Delp, who was also arrested due to an outstanding warrant against him for drug charges, according to tmz.com.

Along with being charged for assault, Jenelle is also facing "affray for fighting" charges, and will be due in court on April 26.

Oak Island Police say Jenelle was booked into Brunswick County Jail and was released shortly after on bond, TMZ reports.

Facebook Pulls Back The Hack-A-Thon Curtain For MTV's 'Diary'

Every so often, Facebook shuts down — not the social-networking site itself, of course, but the company's headquarters in Palo Alto, California. And the temporary pause isn't because anything is wrong; it's because founder Mark Zuckerberg wants things to continue to go right.

Welcome to Facebook's famous "hack-a-thon," an event when business as usual ceases and techies are given carte blanche to code like crazy and create innovative additions for the site. This Wednesday, at 11 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will bring you inside it all during "Diary of Facebook."

"Hack-a-thons are this awesome part of our culture," Zuckerberg says on "Diary." "Every month or two, everyone stays up all night just experimenting with things and building things quickly. And the only rule is that you're not allowed to work on the same thing that your day job is."

That directive is how an employee named Pedram, who usually toils as a technical engineer, finds himself staying up in the wee hours to create a potentially groundbreaking application for the site. He's not the only one. And even those who can't code join in the action — cooking, juggling, drawing and more as they stay energized during the event.

All that and more will be revealed during "Diary of Facebook," which follows not only Pedram, but other employees who live and breathe social networking. Viewers will also meet Erin, a consumer-marketing employee intimately involved in Stories.Facebook.com, an effort to draw attention to users' life-changing social-networking stories. You think you know Facebook, but until you check out "Diary," you have no idea.
