Steven Spielberg has tapped Sally Field to play Mary Todd Lincoln opposite Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th president in 'Lincoln,' the director's adaptation of 'Team of Rivals,' Doris Kearns Goodwin's book that centers on the political clashes between Lincoln and the officers of his cabinet. Filming will begin in the fall for release in fourth-quarter 2012 through Disney's Touchstone label. [The Hollywood Reporter]

'Boardwalk Empire''s Michael Stuhlbarg has been cast in 'Men in Black 3,' Barry Sonnenfeld's second 'MIB' sequel that takes the secret agents back in time to save the world in 1969. Will Smith returns with Josh Brolin, Alice Eve, Tommy Lee Jones, Emma Thompson and Rip Torn. Stuhlbarg, who starred in 'A Serious Man,' will play a character called Griffin. The 3D movie is scheduled for a May 25, 2012, release. [THR]
