Glee-side Heights: Get Ready for JERSEY SHOREsical: A Frickin' Rock Opera!

Gym, tan, laundry... singing? How do you make the already outrageous antics of Jersey Shore even more bonkers? Just add music!

The MTV hit has inspired a hilarious parody, JERSEY SHOREsical: A Frickin' Rock Opera, co-created by Daniel Franzese (he was Damian in Mean Girls; he also plays Ronnie) and Hanna LoPatin (Sammi), who tells In Touch the reality show was a musical waiting to happen.

"What is easier to make musical for the stage than a bunch of people who yell when they are happy, yell when they are angry, and wear a lot of makeup and rhinestones?" asks Hanna. "Every feeling these people have is so exaggerated, it seems like singing their emotions is the logical next step."

As if The Situation (Max Crumm, winner of NBC's Grease: You're The One That I Want, with the prize of playing Danny Zuko for Grease's Broadway revival) serenading himself the lovely lyrics, "If we could be together it'd be something good/So many girls tell me to f**k myself, oh God I wish I could!" wasn't enough of a draw, the show also features a drag queen, JWoww (Derrick Barry, who made the semifinals of America's Got Talent impersonating Britney Spears), and a doo-wop/Greek chorus of drunk girls from the boardwalk called The Random Sluts. It is directed by Drew Droege, star of the ?I'm Chloe Sevigny!? viral videos.

Ultimately, Daniel says the musical, which covers the first three seasons of the show's drama, will appeal to both Jersey Shore lovers, haters and hopefully, even the cast itself. "I unabashedly love me some Snooki," he says. "The whole time we wrote this we kept thinking, ?Would Snooki love it? Would Sammi be hurt if we say this? We shouldn't say that about Pauly D because it isn't true.? We tried to celebrate the ridiculous moments of it all but not just outright trash them. They get trashed enough on their own. We kinda have fallen in love with them all in a weird way. We definitely make fun of them, but I make fun of my brother and sister whenever I get the chance to also. And let's be serious... at $100,000 per episode, they can take the heat!" At least one Shore star gives her support to the project: ?Is it on YouTube? I?ll have to check it out,? Jenni ?JWoww? Farley tells In Touch. ?I love drag queens.? Move over, Jersey Boys!

Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera is playing as part of the New York International Fringe Festival at the Bleecker Street Theater from August 23-28; get times and ticket info on JerseyShoresical.com.
